Integration

Ive been thinking about how experimenting with IT in the classroom has added excitement to both my teaching and the class programme. As a sole charge, and considering I'm the only teacher these kids have, I think it is important I continue with this, The other thing that keeps nagging at me is that the term integration implies control. As IT and the possibilities it provides keeps changing I think that attempting proper integration will simply create a form of stagnation.
What I intend to do is to keep cahanging. That is acquire some new technology and try it in the classroom. For example with our new broadband technology we will attempt to develop video conferencing with a neighbouring school. If something really works it will basically integrate itself. I've noticed this with word processing, video and powerpoints. They are available as an option and the kids use them when they feel it's appropriate.
